David Dean represents individuals and businesses in a wide range of litigation and transactional matters before the state and federal courts, including real estate and zoning litigation, shareholder disputes, contract matters, employment disputes, and business torts. David also represents startups, small businesses, and non-profits in a variety of transactional and business matters. He has also represented individual whistleblowers and classes of investors in qui tam and securities fraud litigation in state and federal courts across the country. David began his legal career at the Miami-Dade County Public Defender's Office, where he conducted dozens of jury and non-jury trials. Since moving to Philadelphia in 2009, David has gained extensive experience in complex litigation with Philadelphia and New York-based litigation firms.

  • Represented builder/developer in federal court and before state environmental hearing board in litigation related to improper withholding of sewage permits for multi-million dollar student housing development

  • Represented owner of hotel/club/restaurants in multi-fronted litigation against former business partner in matters related to corporate fraud and business dissolution

  • Represented owner/developer in state court litigation involving dispute over ownership of subject parcel

  • Represented propane distribution company in litigation, culminating in jury trial, against former partners for fraud

  • Represented homeowner against national homebuilder in dispute over construction/purchase agreement

  • Represented franchisee in negotiation of franchise and lease agreement

  • Represented pharmaceutical industry whistleblower in qui tam litigation against a number of prescription drug manufacturers, resulting in nearly $100 million recovered for federal and state Medicaid programs

  • Represented class of shareholders in securities fraud litigation against publicly-traded health care software company, resulting in multi-million dollar recovery for shareholders
